2010 Wedding Website Challenge

visit www.fabnaija.com to vote for the 2010 Wedding Website of the Year and to suggest a website for the challenge. Here are the rules as seen on our website Wedding websites have become a part of the Nigerian wedding culture. Every year, new websites are created; more colorful and more entertaining than the previous year. FabNaija.cm is opening up the opportunity to reward couples for a job well done in entertaining the Nigerian community with their websites. This annual competition is open to public vote. Three websites will be awarded first place, second place and third place. The websites must be created for weddings that will take place in 2010. Rules: - If there is a tie, Management will choose the winning website. - Websites for weddings to occur in Nigeria, the U.S. or any other country may be entered for the competition. - The Bride or Groom must be African. - A winner will be determined by October 31, 2010

January 9, 2009 After a well-deserved break for the holiday season, the fabnaija.com ladies are back. We have many plans for the new year and we intend to continue writing about Nigerian weddings in the U.S. and abroad. We are starting this year with a discussion of maintaining priorities when planning a Nigerian wedding. It's very easy to get lost in all the details involved in wedding planning. Many people say the most important is for the couple to enjoy the day, but sometimes that's not the most important thing to a Nigerian couple. Sometimes, the most important thing to you might be giving your mother the wedding of her dreams, or hosting your in-laws properly so no one feels slighted or it might even be to have the best, most glamorous wedding of the century. Whatever your priorities are, it's important to actually know that they are your own priorities. There's nothing wrong with focusing on hosting your in-laws or showing off your family's wealth. Just make sure it's what you want and not what someone else wants. Once you've decided what you want, check out our checklist, http://www.fabnaija.com/wedding_article.php to guide you through the whole wedding process. We think it's very important to have a wedding planner. You can also find wedding planners on our website, www.fabnaija.com. If you want a wedding filled with traditional details, it might be better to actually hire a wedding planner who is very familiar with Nigerian weddings. You might have seen the wedding show on Style Network, "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" We say it does not have to be the bride's wedding or the groom's wedding. It may be your mother's wedding or your parents' wedding or even your wedding planner's wedding. Decide if you care enough to be bugged with dragging the right to the wedding, or if you are like me and you don't mind giving up control of your wedding to somebody else. Sounds strange? But really, I know too many ladies who really don't care how their weddings turn out. I know there's a lot of pressure to care and make your wedding perfect, but if you really don't care, don't let anyone force you into planning details that you'd really not be bothered about. E-mail editor@fabnaija.com I think this is a marvelous idea, because i have been searching for info on Nigerian vendors in USA and nothing comes up. only Nigerian vendors in Nigeria are coming up. I live in New York and planning a wedding for next year 2010. I would have loved to find all my info here. I could've blast your web info to everyone. looking at your tabs you're on the right track. Well try to update the info and believe me by world of mouth this could turn out great. Plus with the venues, you have to remember that most Nigerian weddings want Nigerian food, so you should research sites that allow outside catering as well. I am doing my own research now.
