Nigerian Dating Websites Cont'd

October 27, 2009

so…the other day, I was talking about dating websites that could work for Nigerians. I really mean to focus on Nigerians in the States. I said I was going to checkout www.datincycle.com and I sure did. It's not bad. I see what they are trying to do.

One small issue, though, they are simply not there yet…so while the concept is good and will probably attract people in the future, it simply does not boast many members that you can connect with right now. Other partial concern, there are very few members outside of Nigeria. Accordingly, the website is probablyonly helpful if you're looking to meet someone in Nigeria.

However, checkout datingcyle.com for the Articles on dating, marriage, sexuality, etc.
By the way, if you decide to join a dating website, I think it's imperative that you use proper English. Just take the time to write properly and to edit what you've written.

First impressions last long so it helps if someone who's checking you out online does not have to wonder if you just made a mistake or really can't put a five-word sentence together.
Next up, www.sexynaija.com. I'll let you know about that

Dating Websites for Nigerians

originally published October 19, 2009

Here at fabnaija.com, we are interested in not just weddings but the whole wedding process and everything that brings you to that great day – The Wedding Day! As we are currently in the "Engagement Season" if you will, and being single myself, I've been checking out dating websites to see if there's any I can recommend for my fellow fabNigerians.

As you may expect, it takes time, effort and some diligence to actually browse through and determine which of the many websites out there are worth checking out. I think internet dating can be fun and safe if done properly. At all times, please be careful if you decide to date online!
With that little bit of preaching done, I've tried a few websites and here's my take on them.

- www.afrointroductions.com: I actually think this is a decent website. Clean and easy to use. If you're looking to meet a Nigerian, this one does not really have a lot of Nigerians when compared to the other Nationalities, but the site is decent and easy to navigate. It's also quite easy to find the few Nigerians that are on the site. I am quite shocked, though, at the number of Nigerian guys on the site who are over 30 and only have a high school education. 'not quite sure what to make of that, but that's just something I noticed and thought I'd mention about it.

- www.nigeriansconnect.com: don't bother. it's boring and pictures look weird and very few people seem to be using it now anyway.

- www.nigeriansingles.com: I'd heard about this one before, but now it's gone. Not sure what happened to them

The next one I'll try is www.datingcyles.com. This one looks good at least from the front page. I've not registered or anything yet, but as soon as I do, I'll definitely let you have the gist. If you've tried out any, please let us know your take and suggest some to your fellow fabNigerians. I heard there's a lady in Atlanta who runs an executive dating site for Nigerians. If you find the site, please let us know. If we don't find any really good one by the end of the year, we'll just go ahead and create one!

Thank you and happy Halloween in advance to those who celebrate!!

  1. One Problem with this dating websites is the money required before you even begin discussions. Most are unwilling to pay and so a lot of profiles sit there doing nothing
    • money talks right. everyone ….ok most people…. on afro introductions are "Standard" members, which means they can't send e-mails to a "potential." The guys should step o. It does not cost that much…just $20/3 months and you could be talking to the woman of your dreams!

  3. Hi! just came accross this site NCSN – http://www.ncsnonline.com via facebook ads. Is it the new site you are talking about? what is your opinion about it?
    • it's a beautiful site (www.ncsnonline.com), but there aren't that many people on there yet. It also seems to have mostly NIgerians located in Nigeria so if that's where you live, it may not be a bad place to search. I think it's funny that LGA (local government area) is one of the search criteria. just interesting to me is all.

Please Share Your Nigerian Vendors

October 17, 2009

This year, fabnaija was very proud to do a great job celebrating the wedding season and helping brides find venues and vendors for their weddings.

We have a fabulous directory at www.fabnaija.com and crave all the help we can get in making the directory even more extensive and helpful. If you know a good vendor (tailor, caterer, baker, DJ, live band, wedding planner, etc), please send their information to us at editor@fabnaija.com and/or add the information to www.fabnaija.com or just add the information as a comment to any of our posts and I'll make the addition for you.

Please go one step further and include any detail you think might be helpful to your fellow fabNigerians. You can also tell us of vendors that are just not good…especially tailors that simply take forever.
for a very interesting and funny article relaying one of our editors' tailoring experience, check out

It's an article from last year, but it's mad funny and makes me laugh everytime.

Enjoy,
